Bruno Medeiros was officially assigned the Btt Rookies Captain earlier this morning as the team prepared for the "Las piedras" 87km race, an event where they managed to place 3 riders in the top 10, with Bruno taking 2nd.
Classed as a sprinter the 23 year old rider says he's been training climbing and downhill as well, in order to lead the team in other types of races.
"I'm glad the team has seen my potential and has deposited their trust upon my abilities. I have been training hard to maintain my sprinting edge as well as some other areas where I also feel comfortable in."
Albeit not a superstar, the team is confident that Bruno will be a capable rider more than able to lead this team for now.
"He is a very solid young rider and his work ethics have led us to reward him by giving him more responsibilities. We are happy with the riders we have not as we plan to build a solid base before trying any other goals, and Bruno fits nicely into the Captain role."
After 12 seasons away from real competition, not to mention competent management, Btt Rookies seems to be turning into a solid team, capable of moving up the division ladder. We shall wait and see.
